I had just finished putting the girls to bed when I felt prompted to open up my journal...it has been way to long since I've opened it let alone written in it. I felt a sense of urgency that I knew was God...I fought it for a few minutes arguing, "Can't it wait until tomorrow. Really?" I opened it to find that the last two years' previous journal entries for this day July 14th. I started reading last year's entry. It said "Thank you, God for prompting me to open this journal tonight...I didn't even realize the date or that it was Reagan's year and a half milestone today." Ironically, I just about fell out of bed when I read it...I realized yet again that I had seriously lost track of time...or maybe I'm in denial that my baby turned two and a half today. Nevertheless, thank you God for bringing me a sweet reminder...Keith and I are so grateful for you entrusting Reagan to us!

I'm trying to get better at blogging and even taking pictures. Here's a picture of Reagan last week. She wanted to show me the "map" she drew. She insisted that this was needed to find our way to Madi's ballet school.

Your Turn Mommy

We decided to take a break from painting the tub and move on to the real stuff...makeup!!!! The girls just didn't understand why I didn't want them to give me a makeover as well.

By Myself

Gone are the days of me carrying Reagan ANYWHERE! Everywhere we go, she asks to walk by herself. She's such a big girl.

Potty Training Fosters Creativity?

I'm glad to say that thanks to 3 Day Potty Training, we are officially done with diapers...both Madison and Reagan!!! My intention was to only to try this with Madison, but Reagan simply would not be outdone by her big sister.

So...for three very long, laundy filled days, we ran around the house with nothing on but panties and ran to the bathroom what felt like every five seconds. Honestly, those three days felt eternal!

In my desperate attempt to find an activity that did not involve me washing more clothes or linens, I put them in the tub to paint. This was of course followed up with a "Princess Gigi bubble bath". Little did I know what a big hit this would become. I didn't get any pictures of them on their big girl potties or in their new panties. However, since they didn't want to leave the tub, I was able to get just a few pics of them painting away.

Now, every time one goes to the potty the other feels compelled to play in the tub. I think it's time to find a new creative outlet.

"That's what pee pee AND paint looks like?"

"Okay, Mom, really enough."

Sweet Dreams Baby Girl

Lately I've been trying to spend much more time one on one with Reagan....I've so enjoyed watching her little personality develop and hearing her communicate. Yesterday, as I was rocking her, I said "It's night, night time. Do you want to talk to God with me?" Before I could say anything more, she had her hands clasped and said, "Dank Dada (thanks for Dada), Dank Mama, Dank Sissy" It seemed like just a minute later that she fell asleep in my arms. I had the hardest time finally putting her in bed. I wish I had more moments like this. God help me to make the most of every single minute I have with my girls.

First Day of School cont'd

Madison is one of only two girls in their class of ten...Okay, Reagan it's time to go.
Time for Mommy, Daddy, and Sissy to leave. Now Madison is being stingy with the kisses.
While Madison was at pre-school, Reagan kept saying "Sissy"...
I think she really missed Madison. Madison got a great report from her teachers. Then we were off to surprise Daddy at work...I think he enjoyed seeing his girls!

Madison's First Day of Pre-School

My big girl standing in front of her new school. So excited when she sees one of her friends.
Madison kept saying "Reagan, you can come to pre-school when you turn two!" She seemed like she really wanted her sister to stay though.

Reagan's First Haircut

I'm so proud of my little girl...
she sat so patiently while getting her hair cut...
it may have been an emotinal thing for her mommy
but she took it all in stride....
and I think enjoyed all the attention.

Can't Get Enough of the Teeter Totter

Someone recently gave the girls a video in which the character rides a teeter totter. Ever since watching the video, the girls have asked almost daily about riding a teeter totter. They even mimic the motions and say "up, down" constantly. The teeter totter at our local park isn't exactly like the one on the video, so they've never gotten excited about it. However, we had a great find recently. The park at Children's Mercy had a great teeter totter. Even long after Madison had gotten off, Reagan was working hard to make the teeter totter go...not willing to get off even if she was riding alone. She is so strong!
....and so content!!!
