Someone recently gave the girls a video in which the character rides a teeter totter. Ever since watching the video, the girls have asked almost daily about riding a teeter totter. They even mimic the motions and say "up, down" constantly. The teeter totter at our local park isn't exactly like the one on the video, so they've never gotten excited about it. However, we had a great find recently. The park at Children's Mercy had a great teeter totter.
Even long after Madison had gotten off, Reagan was working hard to make the teeter totter go...not willing to get off even if she was riding alone. She is so strong!
....and so content!!!

Pigtails and Bikinis
The girls have really enjoyed swimming this summer. Where we swim, there is a kid-sized frog water slide. When it's time to leave the pool, the girls must say bye to froggie atleast 10 or 11 times before we can leave. The good thing is that it's an indoor pool so the fun won't have to stop when summer is over...boy am I ever grateful for that!

Mommies Say the Dumbest Things
I realized tonight just how literal young children are. We have been in the thick of potty training. Reagan is sitting on the potty. Madison is very emphatically telling me she has to go also. Without any thought, I told Madison she would need to hold it and that Reagan would be finished soon. I glanced up to see Madison cupping her "girl parts" with her hands. Stupidly, I asked her what she was doing....silly mommy! Atleast we're doing something right...Reagan went for a good part of the day in big girl panties....she never even got wet! Yeah Reagan!

Confessions of the Culinarily Challenged Mom
Due to my culinary deficiencies, I very rarely ever use a mixer. My daughters found its appearance and noise to be quite a novelty. After being offered a beater laden with homemade whipped cream, Madison refused it. Reagan, having both her father and Nana Mongeau's sweet tooth, quickly obliged. This was her very first "beater experience".
What a look of euphoria!

Ooooooh...now I have a beater and a spoon...it doesn't get much better than this!
Don't get any ideas, Dad!
Keep away from the spoon and no one will get hurt!!
